a) POSITIONING
A precise position is the fundamental parameter for all survey and engineering operations at sea. In SOS, we use different Veripos Augmentation services depending on client's requirements.
Differential services provided by Veripos can give an accurate position up to decimeter.
In addition, we use the Veripos 'Verify' Suite for position QC and control on all survey projects. VERIFY is a positioning and QC software package developed by VERIPOS that provides users with real-time positioning and quality control information. The software is compatible with all VERIPOS services and takes in raw GNSS data (such as GPS) to compute a position. Various different output formats are supported that allow VERIFY to be interfaced to different navigation systems.
VERIFY has been designed to provide the user with real-time position and quality control information so that the performance can be monitored. The software decodes raw GNSS data (such as GPS) and takes VERIPOS corrections supplied via a suitable demodulator to calculate a position for the user’s location in real-time. In addition, information is available in order that the performance of the GNSS system and the calculated position can be monitored in real-time. The software will also be capable of logging data to permit post mission analysis and processing both in internationally accepted standards and VERIPOS proprietary formats.
Positioning services include, but are not limited to:
- General Marine Applications Positioning.
- Jack Up Rig Moves.

Platform and Pipeline Inspection surveys
Acoustic & Visual Pipeline Inspection using high-resolution side scan systems, conventional side scan tow fish systems
Whether it is part of an integrated ROV / acoustic operation or as an independent survey, SOS fleet of dedicated geophysical, acoustic survey and ROV inspection vessels offers our clients the most comprehensive range of solutions. The latest generation of data-logging and post processing systems enable rapid onboard.
Pipeline engineers are presented with fully detailed charts, videos and stills images, detailed incident reports and KP lists in a user-friendly digital format that delivers the data vital for comprehensive assessments of pipe condition.
d) ROV Operations & Services
SOS's ROVs provides maneuverable platforms supporting imaging and remote sensors that allow real-time supervision of construction operations.
ROV SUPPORT SERVICES
Rov Tooling and Intervention
SAPESCO provides intervention services using Remote Operated Vehicles (WROV) and Dynamic Positioning vessels class II (DP-II). Also, SAPESCO pilots / technicians are trained to IMCA standards.
Fitted with multi-function manipulators, purpose made tools and high-resolution video, SOS’s can provide ROVs which are equipped and ready to perform the most challenging of remote intervention tasks. To meet the industry's demand for driverless’ engineering solutions, SOS continue to invest significantly in the latest ROV technology. The dividends of such investment and new technology are evident in the broad scope of SOS’s ROV capabilities, which include subsea control module maintenance, cutting and grinding operations, pigging, flooding and gauging intervention.
Services include, but are not limited to:
- ROV Inspection. (Pipelines, platforms, wellheads).
- Field Maintenance/Preventive Maintenance.
- ROV Cable Laid Support.
- Intervention Activities.
- ROV Drilling Support.

e) Geotechnical Survey
Also, in SAPESCO, we have the capability of providing different sorts of Geotechnical survey, including grab samplers, gravity cores, CPT, Box core, vibro core…etc.
Grab Sampling
In hard soils or in sites where it is hard to get a sea bed gravity sample or up to the job requirements, here comes the option of using Grab sampler a simple method to get a sample of the seabed.
Gravity Coring
Seeking for the safest method of providing seabed gravity sampling. SAPESCO offers its valued costumers the latest method of having gravity samples without the usual risks accompanied with the traditional methods.
The opposite picture illustrates the operation of the gravity core we use, a pilot weight attached to the gravity core with a release mechanism, once this weight reaches the seabed it releases the gravity core straight to the bottom. No need for the free fall which causes a risk to the operators.
Mini CPT
SOS provides different sorts of CPT up to client's requirements.
