Surface unit of PNN system is made as handcarying case with dimensions 460x3500x160 mm. Main parts of surface unit are:

PNN uses a direct method of detection where thermal neutrons are being captured within detector's volume. He3 Detector (as shown in the schematic) is mostly used nowadays.

Case Histories

In addition to hundreds of runs done by HOTWELL in other territories, SAPESCO has done an excellent performance record in Egypt since launching the tool in November 2001. A total of five jobs serving three different customers Gemsa, Agiba and Amapetco were performed all of which had proven tool reliability in gas environment and normal formation water salinity.

A GR detector tool was run prior to PNN (Neutron detector) ran inside a well in order to evaluate PNN performance

Production Logging

Sapesco uses a wide range of Production Logging Tools for use in hostile environments.

The full range of tools is either deployed on electric line for SRO measurement or on slick line to be used on low load platforms or on Coiled tubing for use in horizontal wells.

A 'state of the art' computer system is used to calibrate, record and print well logs.
When used with electric line, simultaneous telemetry transfers data from the toolstring to the system. When run on slickline or coiled tubing, data is memorised downhole while the tubing or cable movement is recorded at surface. The merged records result in a log indistinguishable form that run on electric line.

A toolstring set up for memory use can be converted to surface readout use on electric line with a Sapesco telemetry crossover unit. Thus a Sapesco toolstring serves all forms of Production Logging and Pressure Temperature measurement.

Production Logging Sensors:

CASING COLLAR LOCATOR- CCL

Standard CCls run on any line voltage. The digital CCL used for Memory work will also run on electric line through the telemetry Crossover.

CAGED FULL BORE FLOWMETER 3 ARM- CFB

The CFB is the flowmeter of choice for all Production Logging work. Output is linear with a very low starting threshold. Wells of any deviation can be logged when used with a centraliser and Knuckle Joints.

CAGED FULL BORE FLOWMETER 6 ARM- CFB

This model provides added protection to the spinner when used in horizontal wells and wells with side pockets. In both CFB designs locking spinners for bidirectional flow are available.

CONTINUOUS FLOWMETTER JEWELLED SPINNER- CFJ

Developed for extended well-tests the lightweight spinner exhibits the lowest threshold. The jewelled bearings remain clear in any orientation.

CONTINUOUS FLOWMETER SPINNER- CFS

This standard spinner is available in diameters up to 80mm with rotors of metal or high performance glass reinforced plastic.

CONTINUOUS WATER HOLD-UP TOOL- CWH

The sensor measures the dielectric constant of the well fluid. The water hold-up when used with flow and fluid density information enables three phase flow to be analysed.

FLUID DENSITY DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TOOL- FDP

This is a precision "Gradio-manometer" based around a float device whose position depends on the density of the fluid surrounding the tool.

FLUID EDNSITY RADIOACTIVE TOOL- FDR

The FDR provide a reliable, durable and safe means of measuring fluid density in harsh environments and high deviation wells. It is unaffected by gravity or pressure differences. This design utilises a low energy gamma ray source.

IN-LINE SPINNER- LIS

The very short and robust flowmeter can be positioned anywhere is the toolstring. Run with a Full Bore Flowmeter it extends the range for very high rates of production.

PRODUCTION X-Y CALIPER- PDC

The X-Y Caliper has two independent arm mechanisms measuring casing diameter each at 90? to the other. Linear sensors are totally protected from the well environment.

PRODUCTION GAMMA RAY TOOL- PGR

This scintillation detector tool measures natural gamma radiation. Its many uses include depth correlation and lithography identification.

PRODUCTION KNUCKLE JOINT- PKJ

The Knuckle Joint is a compact universal joint necessary for centering toolstring sensors below sinker bars in deviated wells.

SRO Production Logging

All Sapesco PL tools can be used to produce Surface Readout (SRO) log when run on conductive wireline through a Production Logging panel (PLP). The PLP provides line power, monitors toolstring operation, interfaces the telemetry to computer recording. All SRO tools send their data simultaneously at up to 1000 pulses per second. Data from high resolution tools such as the Quartz Pressure Gauge (OPS) is transmitted digitally with up to 24 bit accuracy.

SRO logs are momally processed and recorded on a full digital recording system. The Sapesco WARRIOR system is ideal for this operation.

Up to 16 active tools plus Casing Collar Locator (CCL) can be run together on a standard telemetry system and this is normally sufficient to cover most production logging conditions. Expanded telemetry is available if necessary to in the string.

A Depth Interface Unit is available to display depth, tension and line speed as well as operating alarms from those parameters.

MEMORY TO WIRELINE CROSSOVER- XMW

This tool enables Sapesco memory tools to be run as a surface readout toolstring. All memory sensors may thus be logged in real time as SRO.

WARRIOR Digital Acquisition System

The Sapesco WARRIOR system is a compehensive surface readout logging computer with interfaces available for all the wireline tools. Extensive and user-friendly diagnostice are provided for Quality Control. Incorporating "Warrior" software, the system generates logs for screen and hardcopy in standard API or customised formats. The operator can perform many tasks while logging; annotation of the current log, review and reformatting of previous logs, preparation of headers etc. Standard features include Tool and Calibration Databases, Toolstring Editor, and output to LIS or LAS formats on tape or disk

Memory Production Logging (MPL)

The Memory Production Logging string is normally deployed on slickline or coiled tubing. Simultaneous telemetry transmits the signals from standard sensors to a battery powered Memory tool at the top of the toollstring. The Memory tool is programmed using an IBM compatible computer and interface to record log values with intervals as short as 0.1 seconds or as long as many hours between readings.

MEMLOG software is supplied with all Memory tools. This complete operating package enables extremely versatille programming of the tools, monitoring of tool operation, downloading of tool data, and the visual merging of log and depth data to create depth-based LAS or plain ASCII files.

Once the logging operation is complete, the procedure for merging the log-time and depth-time data is rapid. The resultant files of individual passes are output to produce standard API format loge using the MIDAS presentation software. API field prints can be available to the wellsite oil company representative in less than an hour from the tools being recovered from the well.

The Sapesco Depth-Time Recorder (DTR) simultaneously records depth, tension, and up to eight analogue inputs. It also displays line speed to assist the slickline or coiled tubing winch operator.

Sapesco Memory sections are available with capacities starting from 4 Mbyte. Typically a four Mbyte tool can record the output from up to twelve tools plus a Quartz Pressure Sensor with gauge temperature for at least 36 hours when sampling each tool once a second. Memory sections are available with up to 64 Mnyte capacity.

MEMORY BATTERY HOLDER- MBH

The MBH houses battery packs to power Memory Production or Pressure tools. It is available in several sizes to accept lithium, silver oxide or alkaline cells depending temperature requirements. Up to 72 hours of continous logs may be recorded in memory.

MEMORY PRODUCTION LOGGING TOOL- MPL

This is used on silkline or coiled tubing to acquire and store production logging data from all downhole PL sensory. MEMLOG software is supplied with all memory tools providing a graphical PC interface for programming and downloading tool.

DEPTH-TIME RECORDER

The ruggedised Sapesco Depth Time Recorder DTR-04 logs and displays depth, cable speed, tension and up to seven other analogue channels to 16 bit resolution. Interfacing to various types of shaft encoder and other sensors is simple. Nonvolatile real time clock runs for at least 10 years on internal battery. Main internal power is fixed 24 hr rechargable and removable 240 hr standard primary D cells with automatic selection. External power 10 to 24 volt dc, 110 to 350 volt dc and 100 to 250 volt ac.

Novel operating software and the 240 x 128 pixel backlit graphic display result in intuitive operation. The fully sealed unit remains waterproof during operation. Internal non-volatile memory provides typically 10 days of logging capacity depending on use options. The unit is fully supported by Sapesco MEMLOG software.

The "compact" setting tool from Owen oil tools is a very reliable and fast setting tool for all major plugs brands. Using the proper setting adapter, any plug provided by your esteemed company may be set. As an option we have included in our submission the technical specs for the "premium" bridge plug from Owen Oil Tools. Cement dump bailers are available for both cases of through tubing and casing bailers. High quality cement Kit is also available from Owen Oil Tools should your esteemed company wishes to use our kit which is ready to mix on site.
