In 1998 Sapesco created a new business line to invest and operate in the exploration and production (E&P) activities.The company held major shares in a number of oil field concessions in egypt that matured and prospered during the past eight years.it became essential to spin these activities into an independent company to focus on the operations and investments.consequently , sahra Oil & Gas was incorprated as an egyptian joint stock company under the provisions of law 1959 for 1981.The company quickly esatblished as an independent exploration and production company with major shareholding in five concessions in egypt namely:

• North july(offshore)
• Zaafarana(offshore)
• South West Gebel El Zeit(offshore)
• West Gebel El Zeit
• West Qarun

The company operates from its head office located in cairo where they have established an intergrated,highly qualified team for operating and managing the company business.
